April 2003: JBG/Marriott
In January 2001,
local developer JBG retained Myers
Commercial, Inc. to secure land in Square 369 that would become
part of the new Convention Center Hotel site, as awarded by Mayor
Williams of the District of Columbia in December 2002. The winning
bidder, Marriott, closed on Square 369 in April 2003.
September 2002: American Tort Reform Association (ATRA)
In October 2001, ATRA (American Tort
Reform Association)
hired
Myers Commercial to represent it in what was expected to be a lease
renewal at 1850 M Street, N.W. Instead, ATRA found a more prominent
office headquarters at 1101 Connecticut Avenue, N.W., at lower cost
than their renewal option.
Ongoing Leasing Operations, 1998-present: 1707 H and 734 15th
Streets, N.W.
On behalf of Washington, DC developer
DuPont Fabros,
Myers Commercial completed the leasing of 1707 H Street and 734 15th
Street. DuPont Fabros acquired both of these well-located buildings
and repositioned them to a B+ standard. As a result of this
repositioning and a marketing strategy designed to build awareness
by getting the brokers into the building, both buildings are 100%
leased pursuant to long-term leases.
